February 2024 — The University of Nevada Press has accepted Ben’s new novel, The Daughters, for publication in 2025!

November 2023 — Like a school book fair…but with cocktails! Ben’s books will be for sale at Lit Libations, a Sierra Arts Pop-Up Book Fair on Nov. 3 at 6 pm at the Riverside Gallery.

June 2023 — Ben will be doing a reading and selling books at the Local Authors Book Faire on June 27 from 4-6:30 pm at the South Lake Tahoe Public Library. Come hang out!

December 2022 — Come join Ben for an evening all about storytelling. It’s free, open to the public, and sponsored by the Nevada Arts Council. Douglas High School Library Media Center, Dec. 15, 6 pm.

July 2022 — Kirkus Reviews puts The Mayfly on its list of “Great Indie Books Worth Discovering” and does a profile about Ben.

February 2022 — Ben is the grateful recipient of the Nevada Arts Council Literary Artist Fellowship.

September 2018 — Sundance Bookstore presents Writing Reno, a conversation between Ben and Reno historian Dr. Alicia Barber, Tuesday, Sep. 25, 6:30 pm.

September 2018 — Ben will take part in the 2018 Reno Lit Crawl, Saturday, Sep. 15, noon to 8 pm.

September 2018 — The Flamer is re-released by Baobab Press, with a new foreword.

July 2017 — A new short story, ZHIYU/JERRY, is up at The Rumpus.

February 2017 — Ben returns as a judge at the Poetry Out Loud District Finals at the Nevada Museum of Art, Feb. 16, 5-8 pm.

July 2016 — Ben will lead a session of the Youth Writing Program at the University of Nevada, Reno, July 19, 9-11 am.

June 2016 — Ben and Adam Dedmon will host a free Writer’s Workshop at the Holland Project, June 23, 6-8 pm.

May 2016 — Ben will be part of the Reno Lit Crawl, May 21, 4-9 p.m., starting at the West Street Market.

February 2016 — Ben sits in as a judge at the Poetry Out Loud Statewide Semifinals at the Nevada Museum of Art.

October 2015 — Ben joins other Reno writers for a Writer’s Harvest of spooky stories at Sundance Bookstore, benefitting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

March 2014 — Ben sits in with KNPR in Las Vegas for a chat about the new Nevada.

February 2014 — A new story, The Young Man and the Mountain, is out now in Arroyo Literary Review.

November 2013 — Ben reviews Don Waters’ first novel, Sunland, for The Rumpus.

October 2013 — CHOICE Magazine gives Nanotechnology: The Whole Story its coveted CHOICE Award and calls the book “highly recommended.”
